August Events in Las Vegas at The Barbershop

At The Barbershop, you can enjoy a Las Vegas entertainment experience like no other. Inspired by the 1900s speakeasies, we also sport a functioning barbershop full of retro decor. It’s an environment that you won’t find elsewhere in Vegas, and it makes for a memorable location to enjoy drinks with friends. 

But that’s far from all we offer. At The Barbershop, we offer a roster of great entertainment, and August is no exception. Check out our Events Page to stay up to date, then join us for a cocktail, maybe a haircut or shave, and some amazing music. 

Thursday, August 1st: Cameron Dettman

Singer Cameron Dettman has lived in Las Vegas ever since he was five. He auditioned on NBC’s The Voice, sharing his blend of the 70’s soul legends with modern pop influences from Maroon 5 and Bruno Mars. Dettman released his debut EP in the spring of 2018. 

Before branching out on his own, Dettman played in multiple bands. His first band, Water Street, rebranded into the group Play For Keeps. Play For Keeps headlined in notable Vegas venues such as the House of Blues & Hard Rock Cafe, sharing the stage with acts including Imagine Dragons, Sick Puppies, Motion City Soundtrack, and more. The group disbanded after six years, allowing Dettman to pursue his solo career. 

Since appearing on The Voice, Dettman played on the Las Vegas Strip and held a six-month residency at the Chihuly Lounge in Singapore. He plans to release new music in 2019.

Saturday, August 3rd: The 442s

The 442s hail from the St. Louis region and have been performing together since 2012. This acoustical instrumental group consists of top jazz and classical musicians, but when together, these musicians defy the boundaries of genre definitions. Instead, these musicians blend jazz, classical, folk, and rock music. Improvisation and group singing highlights the arrangements, adding intrigue to this inventive group of performers. 

The 442s have traveled throughout the midwest, and have also appeared with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, at the Sheldon Concert Hall, and performed the 442s Holiday Spectacular. 

Sunday, August 4th: Rawhide – The Rhyolite Sound

The Rhyolite Sound formed in Las Vegas in 2013, and has since been entertaining both the hard-core honky tonk traditionalists as well as more casual country music fans. The group’s desert honkey tonk style makes for a rowdy show, and the members include time for plenty of banter in between pieces to keep the audiences entertained and engaged.

Friday, August 9th: Heavy Petting Zoo

Saturday, August 10th: 442s

Sunday, August 18th: Cletus and Mexican Sweat

Cletus and Mexican Sweat is “just a good time band” that performs music with an old-school country feel. Their sets include songs by Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Jerry Reid, and the like, as well as hits by Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest, and Pink Floyd.
